Yzra's 2nd Climb and Camp,. This is a post valentines camp with family and friends at Puncak Tanawan, Balugo, in the town of Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
Valentines day had just passed and we thought of celebrating it together with kids and at the same time having a retreat an escape from the city noise and hassle. Me and my wife together with our friend, couple Kim and Art with son Zay and another friend of our Joymae decided to explore and try Puncak Tanawan in Sibulan. This place is gaining popularity years back then for nature lover individuals or barkadas who just want to relax and camp and savor the fresh air with the amazing sunset in the morning.
And so here we are around 3pm we started the fun. First we decided to bring our scooters up because I thought the road going up is already done. I also asked some local they told us that its okay-) but to my surprise there was a certain part along the road nga pagka lisoda kaayo ang dalan so we dicided to just left the scooter in a house beside the road and decide to walked. Na scam si ako dili ma dalag motor.
Before when we hike our pack are loaded with junk foods and a wine but this time it was loaded with kids stuff.-)
The trail going up. It's already a stablished trail, a child friendly trail but of course you have to be on the look on your son when you are in the outdoors.
Along the trail you can meet local dogs who will also joined you climbing up to the campsite. Just be generous and kind give some bread or biscuits. Yzra and his Kuya Zay.
Okay I know you guys are tired. Lets have a 15 minutes rest have your water for hydration and some trail foods ready. These kiddo might consumed all your water in the trail.

Seriously taking every step going up. I believed it enhances body balance and coordination. This I think a very essentials part that needs to be develop first in a child developing skills. The body balance and coordination so he can move his whole body freely and easy and smoothly. Using also at the same time the skills to think what to do, what would be his next move para dili ma yayay!-) Indeed he enjoyed so much.
After almost three hours of easy hike we arrived at Puncak Tanawan. That's my wife full of energy and love for the great outdoor enjoying her hike in Puncak Tanawan. The overlooking view, by far you can see the cityscape of Dumaguete City and the town of Sibulan and the neighboring island of Cebu and Siquijor.
Upon arrival we are warmly greeted with these beautiful flowers blooming going to the main house the logbook area. We then write our names and address to the logbook and pay for entrance and camping fee of 75 pesos each except for yzra and zay.
After we had our names written in the logbook. We then look for a camp site, good thing in this place campsite is already established there are also water supply and a perimeter lights that would make us feel safe and secured plus the owner of the place is also with us in his house to monitor the peace and order in the area. They categorized there campsite into two. The one is for those who would like to have a peaceful night in the tent this is highly recommended if your have a child with you and the other campsite is situated on the other side intended to those who would like to have a fun more moderate voice and music. So we choose the silent campsite because we have our two kids with us and of course they must be very tired from the hike-).
After an hour the sun is swiftly setting and so are we. We have just set out tents and started to prepare for our early dinner outside. Its the first time for Yzra and Zay eating outside and to have a camping feels. What it feels like camping.

After dinner they started to explore some of my gears and roamed around the tent.
Kids really enjoy the great outdoors. They still have energy for the night. At this time some visitors are still arriving for an overnight camp.
That's us inside the tent . Yzra is sleeping ahead of us. If you have with you your kids on a camp please make sure to bring extra comfort pillow, sleeping bag, inflatable mattress for extra comfort with kids so that they will have a straight long sleep the whole night. Don't forget to bring also Bottle of milk and a distilled water.

Morning comes. That's the view when we woke up in the tent. Blooming flowers with the promising sunrise.
I believed the everyday a million miracles begin at sunrise. The beautiful sunrise of Puncak Tanawan. Actually for me sunrise is one of the most special time a of day. On my amazement I reflected each and every sunrise literally marks the beginning of a new day and new hope and a new life that borrowed from God, it also reminds me that we, too, can start fresh with a good attitude, positivity, and gratitude. In fact, next time you check out a sunrise, it might be worth it to bring along a pen and a notebook to write some words of gratitude just to kick things off right. . And for those of you who refuse to wake up and drink in the sunrise sights, that's okay. You can hang out for the end of the day and enjoy some sunset.-)

It's Kim and Art with there son Zay and Yzra the one in between joining them in roaming and running around the vicinity. Kids do really enjoyed and having fun outdoors. They just love the outdoors. I haven't heard them saying they are tired or bored.
With us in these photo is my friend Rhodel the race director of Puncak Tanawan Mountain Marathon setting and checking the route for up coming event. Its a Asia Trail Master Championship and qualifying event hosted in Negros Island. More pro trail runners will be coming to the event soon. It will be this coming June in celebration of the town of Sibulan, Fiesta Celebration. If you want to join the said event you can register to there Facebook page. After a few minutes our breakfast was served. Its Yzras favorite a meal with an egg or the famous silog meals. In the photo are Claire, Me, Joymae claire officemate, Art, Zay and Kim all are ready to take breakfast.

Before we leave the camp we cooked some popcorn for our snacks-) which the kids love it with cheese flavor. They wants to help in cooking popcorn.

Before we break our camp we make sure that the place is clean. Of course, diligently practicing the leave no trace principle and teaching the kids at there young age the value of caring our environment for the present and future generation.
We are leaving the Puncak Tanwan with an awesome experienced with kids in the outdoors.

at the end, for me the greatest wealth one you can give to your son is the wealth of wonderful and memorable experienced with you and your family. Its the best memories they will surely reminisced when time comes. Its the gift of time, love, good health and contentment that all matters in this world. See you all again in the outdoors.
