The Legends:Electronic Big Book of Mabinay District 1(E-BigBooks)

February 28, 2017

Hey!  guys, I'll be sharing to you our ICT output. The fruit of our hard works. Let me present to you the Digital Electronic Big Books for kids. Showcasing the different Legend of our Baranggay in Mabinay.

A product of ICT Team of Mabinay District 1. An initiative in connection with the DepEd K-12 Localized Instructional Materials named as "BigBooks" where stories and legends of all the barangays within the district are printed for children to read and understand and to put a twist on it we in the ICT team made it into Electronic BigBooks where in you can View and Listen the Bigbooks in the Interactive White Board,Laptop or Flat Screen projector.

The idea is for every school in our district to come up with stories and legends in there respective barangays  and later I found out that our town is very rich in legends that need to be treasured and preserved.

The contents of the Big Book will not only be for local consumption but for the whole world since it will be viewed globally through our district website and now I am sharing it to my blog.

It would be best that children in our town would know first their humble and enchanted beginnings,  before learning the history of other countries.  Thanks to our supportive District Supervisor Dr. Lobos for encouraging and inspiring us to finished this project.

Colors and Faces of the 2017 Langub Festival

January 2017

Mabinay Annual Town Fiesta is part and bundle of Mabinayanon rich and colorful culture in town. Through good times and bad times, the fiesta must go on. Each proud 32 barrio together with "purok" has at least one local fiesta celebration of its own, usually on the feast of its patron saint or a thanksgiving celebration, so there is always a fiesta going on somewhere in our town. The same scenario all throughout the country.

In Mabinay we have two major Festival, The Lingganay Festival during Christmas and the Langub Festival set every January.  But the major and most elaborate festival of all is the Langub Festival, a month long celebration season showcasing the vibrant colors of the street, happy faces of the people dancing to the rhythm beat of the drums and great food of course. Langub Festival is set to happen annually every January, 24-25 to be specific.

Langub Festival from the word " Langub"  originated from our local term which means cave. Having name Cave Capital of the Philippines due to a numerous cave system in our town, boosting around 400 caves around the area waiting for explorer.

Last 24th of January afternoon me myself and I joined the celebration.
