Craving for Native Chicken: Ate Josie..! d original native chicken BBQ

                July 2016

Had our OBT or the One Big Tuyok in Dumaguete City or UniverCity one early saturday evening.

By the way, One Big Tuyok or "OBT" is what we usually do, It's a roaming around the city riding a scooter with no exact direction, just roaming around.-)

After an hour of just wasted time but for us we enjoy doing it roaming around Dumaguete. We feel hungry and so were looking for a perfect spot to have our dinner. Were looking for a typical tocino "ihaw" dinner with "puso" rice. While driving our way going Hibbard avenue passing Silliman Univercity we spotted Ate Josie!! Grill House.

April 21, 2016

You might thinking I'm going to Tokyo but of course not. I'm not leaving Philippines . I'm going to attend a National seminar-workshop on Action Research.

That's me at the NAIA departure area.

Well prior to my arrival at NAIA, Here's our groupfie at Bacolod-Silay International Airport. Me with some of Mabinay District 1 dynamic school administrators headed by our active district supervisor Dr. Marilou N. Lobos. Thank you also to our Mayor Uy for providing us transportation Mabinay to Bacolod.

Me, Dr.Lobos,Mam Sue, Amethys

We arrived Bacolod earlier so we decided to have our early lunch at SM City Bacolod.  It's us at the food court of SM Bacolod with the school heads of Mabinay District 1. Some just took coffee and some had there heavy meal.

My friend jacky requested another selfie..ok pagbigyan..-)

Inside the Bacolod-Silay International Airport for check in baggage.

Since it's just a 3 days seminars so I decided to pack light. I just used my North Face Big Shot backpack. Hassle free at the airport no need to check in my luggage. Tips: pack light, travel light. Just don't forget to bring the essentials of course.

A well maintained airpot serving the general area in the Negros Island Region. This airport replaced the Bacolod Domestic Airport in 2008. The Bacolod–Silay International Airport inherited its IATA and ICAO airport codes from the former airport. The airport, which is built to handle international air traffic, is expected to become the primary gateway to Negros Island Region. It is one of the two active airports serving the island region, the other is in Dumaguet Negros Oriental.

After a minutes of the usual flight delayed and
patiently waiting for our flight at last we arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. To our excitement we took pictures on different angles inside the NAIA arrival area.-)
Another angle shoot at Arrival area NAIA.

We arrived Manila late night already lucky enough humble Congressman George Arnaiz generously assisted us for our transportation and accommodation that night at his house in Quezon City. Thank you so much Cong.Arnaiz. Tired and exhausted we had a goodnight at his house.

Early the next day to my surprised breakfast was served and ready. A simple yet full of love breakfast for all of us. That's us eating breakfast. While others took there breakfast some also took shower to avoid congestion.-) heavy traffic in the shower room.
Took a selfie outside Cong. Arnaiz house before leaving bound for Tagaytay CIty.

I guessed were now ready so
another groupfie inside our service van made possible through the generousity of Cong. Arnaiz.

Manila to Tagaytay is just 66 kilometer away but due to traffic after 4 hrs travel we arrived at the venue Tagaytay Country Hotel.

WELCOME TO TAGAYTAY COUNTRY HOTEL.

And because we had our advanced hotel accommodation bookings. We just seated there waiting for our room keys. The advantage of advanced booking it's really hassle free.

Since it was also the first day of the seminar. After checking our rooms and arranged our luggage's we then proceed to the main conference hall for the registration, leveling off and introduction of the seminar and some acquaintances follows.

That's us ready for the first day battle.
The seminar-workshop started right away with lecturers from notable universities and institution in the country. We had dynamic group discussions, sharing of brilliant ideas from our group mates.

Presenting.... our conference hall occupied with energetic school administrator and enthusiastic teachers all over the country.

The seminar was a full day 8 hour seminar workshop with snacks and lunch break in between.

Me at the center took opportunity to have groupfie together with the first day lecturer/facilitator a very young and dynamic professor from Normal University the lady in black at the center.

After the first day,

Right after the first day, we decided to explore Tagaytay City by Pedicab-) Searching for the best Bulalo in town.

Sky Ranch

We headed to the famous Tagaytay Sky Ranch. Just a trivia Sky Ranch (or Sky Fun) is a network of amusement parks in the Philippines. Sky Ranch has three branches; in TagaytaySan Fernando, Pampanga, and in Baguio. The first Sky Ranch amusement park opened in Tagaytay in 2013.

At the ticket booth.

WELCOME TO SKY RANCH TAGAYTAY CITY.

Aside from viewing Taal volcano, Sky ranch is one of the tourist destination in the area. People from Manila and neighboring towns and cities visits here once in a while for relaxation and retreat because of its relaxing ambiance and cool weather temperature.

AND finally we found the best Bulalo in town hehehehe.

After taken our dinner we head back to our hotel to rest and prepare for tomorrows continuation of the seminar

I guess I am now ready for another day full of learning insights. Early bird for the win.

It us taking our break for waiting for our snacks to be served. I'm surrounded by this dynamic school administrator in our District.
On the other photo I'm having a gallery walk from all the output on the day.

To make the long day short, we ended up with another groupfie outside the function room.

After the dinner my co- teachers had their rest while me, I have to plunge into the hotel swimming pool. Sayang naman di ko ma try.. So ayan na nga nasubukan kong maligo sa kanilang pool. It was cold but refreshing.

These are photos taken during the 3rd day or the last day of the seminar. Everyone seems busy at the same time excited to go home or should I say excited to have the side trip after the seminar.

The long wait is over, aside from the learning's I gained from the lectures the most anticipated part was receiving our certificates. Of course that's me again with the speakers and organizers and some co participants with our certificates.

After the seminar, we pack our things right away and ready for another trip. Bid farewell to the kind and courteous hotel staff and front desk personnel.

Getting ready, and our service vehicle arrive on time and we going to the Peoples Park another tourist destination in Tagaytay.

We arrived in the main entrance but were too early for the opening of the gate  so I decided to sip for a coffee at the small stall.

Yes finally the it's open..

That's me with Jacky my childhood friend and neighbor. One of my snacks sponsor hehehe

Sharing photos of us inside the Peoples Park.

The Amphitheater.

The over looking view from the Park.
As the I read it on there info this what Peoples Park all about. The People's Park in the Sky, often simply called People's Park and originally named Palace in the Sky, is a historical urban park in Tagaytay, Cavite, Philippines.

The park was converted from an incomplete mansion, known as the palace in the sky. It was built during the Marcos era to host the visit of US President Ronald Reagan. Work stopped when Reagan canceled his visit. The incomplete scaffolding of the mansion remained intact.

The Shrine of Our Lady, Mother of Fair Love and a Doppler weather radar station maintained by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is also within the park.

After Peoples Park we moved right away and head back to the Capital City for the Ocean Park Adventure.

But...... opssss still we arrived early at the Ocean Park  so we decide to explore the Luneta Park which happens to be adjacent to the Ocean Park. To use our time efficiently.

Me at the Luneta Park walkway.

Another never ending group pictures.

Dili pwed wala koy selfie.. Oh ayan may selfie na ako. With the very controversial Luneta Park and the building at the back.

So ayan na,, Nakapasok na kami sa loob ng ocean park. Have to take again a selfie sorry for this.-)

Trivia of Manila ocean Park.
The main attraction of Manila Ocean Park is the Oceanarium which houses 14,000 sea creatures from about 277 species all of which is indigenous in Southeast Asia. The Oceanarium has seven sections and contains 3,000 cubic meters of sea water. Its main feature is the 25 meters (82 ft) 220° curved walkway tunnel after a 55-meter walkthrough inside the Oceanarium. The water used in the Oceanarium is derived from the Manila Bay which is filtered to be suitable to marine life. It also has an educational activity area, function rooms for events, and shark and stingray viewing area situated in two levels. The Jellies Exhibit, a separate attraction hosts jellyfishes. The Back of the House features information on the operation of the facility itself.
The Manila Ocean Park also hosts the Trails to Antarctica, the first penguin park facility in the country, which features Humboldt penguins. Through the years, their breeding program for the penguins have been very successful. As of May 2017, they already have a total of 13 baby penguins that hatched inside the park.  They also have the Birds of Prey Kingdom which features Brahminy kites and the World of Creepy Crawlies which exhibits frogs, insects, spiders, and worms.

Services were also offered to patrons such as the Mermaid Swim Experience where visitors are taught to swim while wearing a costume mermaid tail, Underwater diving, Fish Spa, and rides on a boat with a glass bottom. Shows such as the Sea Lion Show and All Star Bird Show is performed inside the Manila Ocean Park and seats up to 1,900 pax per show. As part of their banner CSR program called "I Love My Ocean Planet", the show brings valuable information on environmental conservation and close interaction with the birds and sea lions. The Symphony is a performance involving fountains that shoots water 40 meters (130 ft) high supplemented with multimedia effects is also among the attractions of the Manila Ocean Park.
It me with my two aunties younger sisters of my Mama with Sir Ranjel on the other side.

Then we explore Antarctica Section. Just feel how it is to be in the arctics.

This was the jelly fish section of the park so amazing.

To end up the tour in the park. This was the last part of the tour. Its called the Symphony, It was a performance involving fountains that shoots water around 40 meters high supplemented with multimedia effects and luckily because we want to be seated in front of the seats so we decide so take the front sets not wondering why other tourist seated at the back. And to our surprise whew! nabasa kaming lahat.
And the best part was when the show started the fountains started to blow waters, spray waters anywhere and that we cannot move and find another seats because its all occupied and so we ended up all wet..Mga basang sisiw. What a day of surprise. Lesson have learned inside and outside the classroom next time observed first the surroundings. I really enjoyed the whole trip from the seminar up to the end. I would like to thanks our guide for the Ocean Park tour who facilitated our tickets and reservation Auntie Inday Evelyn Marquez, and also to my sponsor this seminar my ever supportive Aunties hehehe Te amai Nenita Hines, Me ling2x Dr.Lobos, and Te bibing Virginia Hanwell thanks for the support.
